How to measure
Measure the longest length and width of each room in feet. For an L-shaped room, split it into rectangles and add the areas. Use the square feet per carton from the specific product label.
Formula and assumptions
Cartons = ceiling(length in feet × width in feet × (1 + cut allowance / 100) ÷ square feet per carton).
Worked example
A 16 × 13 ft room covers 208 sq ft. At 10% allowance and 24 sq ft per carton, buy 10 cartons.
